Silvia Martinez

Silvia is a junior researcher and facilitator at Glocolearning. She holds a Master's degree in Nutrition and Health and a Bachelor in Biology from the University of Pisa (Italy, Portugal). Through meaningful experieces across Europe and Africa, Silvia's academic journey reflects her profound interest in the holistic field of integrated food sciences, environmental sciences, science-based communication, and multi-stakeholder participatory approaches.

Since 2016, she has taken on the role of a facilitator, collaborating with FUTOUR - Mobile Center on international projects focusing on sustainability, health, policy, and land & water management. Silvia is committed to making a meaningful impact in the world of nutrition, utilising her knowledge and passion to advocate for healthier dietary practices.

She is the co-founder and vice-president of SlumRise, a Community Based Organisation (CBO) in Kenya, empowering youth in Mathare slums through education, nutrition programs, and vocational training.
