Heather is a facilitator and content developer at Glocolearning, based in Portland, Oregon.
She is a multidisciplinary researcher, passionate about catalyzing change using evidence-based and data-driven advocacy to support inclusive co-learning and capacity building for better and more equitable health, agri-food system transformation, and community development. Heather was a sustainable diets research consultant with the CGIAR Alliance of Bioversity International-CIAT affiliated with the Montpellier, France office from 2020-2022. Here she supported several research projects as well as the design, development, and coordination of the Innovative Food System Solutions (IFSS) portal initiative.
Since 2005, Heather has worked at the intersection of rural community development and health system strengthening in LMICs. From 2008 – 2016 she served as Program Director at ICT4Health at Sustainable Sciences Institute (SSI), in Nicaragua. She has over 15 years of professional experience in various roles in scientific capacity building, applied research, program design and coordination, and impact evaluation in Global Health and International Agricultural Development initiatives in the Americas and Africa.
Heather possesses a Master in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley (2009), a Master in International Agricultural Development from the University of California, Davis (2006) and a Bachelor in Biology from Reed College (2000).
